WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR THESE MASSAGES?

This service is for those who:

• have just found out they have cancer,

• are currently in, or just finished, treatment for cancer, or

• may have reached the respite or hospice part of their cancer journey.

Also available for caregivers - honoring those who do so much and need some care themselves!

HOW MANY FREE MASSAGES MAY I GET?

Patients may receive 2 free massages, then 4 additional massages at a reduced rate (50%).

Caregivers may receive 1 free massage, then 2 additional massages at a reduced rate  (50%).

Time allotted for all massages will be 60 minutes.

This structure allows us to offer massages to a greater number of those in need, and is subject to availability of funds in the nonprofit.

WHERE WILL THE MASSAGES TAKE PLACE?

Massages will be offered at the office of Koch Massage Therapy (at the Chace Mill in Burlington). The office is handicapped accessible.

Patients for whom mobility is severely restricted, or patients in hospice, will have the option of on-site massages at the patient's home or care facility, with permission of the facility.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Your comfort is our priority. Your massage will be on a massage table or massage chair. If neither option is comfortable, we’ll work together to determine what is best for you.

WHAT TYPE OF MASSAGE MIGHT I GET?

Depending on your physical needs, massage may be:

• Traditional Massage (full body massage or area work)

• Manual Lymph Drainage (gentle massage focused on improving lymph flow)

• Reiki (quiet, light touch focused on balancing energy)
